Bolt & BattenRepair Co. — Reno Book a job

Est. 2017 · Reno & Sparks · Licensed & insured

The forty
small things
nobody else
will book.

Two people, one van, a published rate card. Doors that stick, drywall that cracked, the deck board that finally went soft, the fixture that has been in a box in your garage since March.

Bolt & Batten poster mark A flat geometric composition: a black gable over a red half-circle on the left, a blue square top right, an ochre band across the base, with a wrench, a bolt head and four batten boards set against them.

We book the small job

Most trades in this valley will not come out for ninety minutes of work. That is the entire reason this company exists. One hour is a real booking, not a favour.

The price is published

The rate card below is the rate card. You will not get a different number because it is Friday, because the van is busy, or because of what your house looks like.

We say what we don't do

Panel work, gas lines, structural framing, anything on a roof pitched over 6:12. We name a licensed person for those and take nothing for the referral.

An index
of the work.

Coverage

Where the
van goes.

Pick a zone for its next opening. The diagram is stylised — it is a coverage schematic, not a map to scale.

Coverage schematic for Reno and Sparks A stylised diagram of six service zones as flat geometric blocks. Every zone and its next available opening is also listed as text below the diagram.
Schematic. Two lines for orientation: I-80 across, the Truckee down.
  • Covered every day the van runs. Includes Somersett, Caughlin Ranch and the Mogul end of Fourth.

  • Our densest zone — a lot of pre-war houses, a lot of doors that have not been square since the sixties.

  • Older timber, plaster over lath in places. We carry the right fasteners for it, which is not a given.

  • Newer builds, mostly builder-grade fixtures reaching the age where they fail. Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

  • All of Sparks including Wingfield. Decks and gates are most of what we do out here.

  • The far end of the valley. We batch this zone, so it is Mondays and the occasional Friday.

We do not cover Carson City, Incline or the Tahoe basin. Fernley and Dayton by arrangement, with travel added.

Booked one hour for a door. He fixed the door in forty minutes and then asked what else was on the list, and got through three more things inside the hour I had paid for.

D. Whitfield — Old Southwest

They told me the fascia job needed a roofer and gave me a name. No charge for the visit. That is the reason they now do everything else at this house.

P. Ngo — Sparks

The rate card is the rate card. I have paid exactly what the website said four times running, which is not my experience of this trade.

M. Arriaga — Midtown
